About Me

Hi there 👋,
I'm Leon Muscat, a computer science student at the University of St. Gallen. I started my studies in September 2022 and have been captivated by the fields of computer science, maths, and finance ever since.
When I'm not studying, I like to ski and game. Currently, I'm hooked on Battlefront 2 and PlateUp. I'm also an avid self-hoster, and I love exploring and experimenting with different tools to host everything from file sharing to email.
Alongside my personal interests, I maintain this blog, where I write summaries about the topics covered in (some of) my lectures. I also have a list of interesting reads to keep you busy for a whole semester.
In April 2023, I had the privilege of attending the Spring Week programmes in London offered by Bank of America, BNP Paribas, and BP. In the summer of 2023, I did an internship at Bayrische Landesbank in fixed income trading. The following year, I interned at Nomura in Global Markets and accepted the return offer to start full-time in July 2025 as a graduate analyst in trading.
In addition to these experiences, from August 2022 to December 2024, I was a board member, Head of Events (2024), and Head of IT (2022-2024) for the Helvetian Investment Club. I was responsible for overseeing all events, managing the club's technology infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operations. I was also involved in the founding of the ACM@HSG club in 2023 and remained an advisory board member for a year.
Furthermore, I also gained some teaching experience as a teaching assistant for Prof. Andrei Ciortea in Distributed Systems.
